Act or DIE!

Sorry, I had to employ the "extreme hook" tactic in the title, but it got you to look! smile

What I mean by the title is what happens to me when I am not acting.

Acting and Art is a complete and consuming passion that God has placed in me. It has become such a part of me, that when I am not using those gifts - when I am not being creative or creating a performance - I lliterally feel like a part of me has died.

I remember a point in my life where I went 2+ years without doing any theater. I didn't realize why at the time, but I felt so dried up, so stagnant. Eventually it dawned on me why I was feeling like this and God provided a way for me to get back into my passion - but that time was not fun.

So, I guess my point to all this is not to ignore your passions at all. They are passions for a reason, they are there for a purpose. Use them and let God use them. Strive to glorify Him with your passions and I guarentee you will feel alive, you will feel like you are doing what you were made to.

I was once told "Don't act because you want to, act because you need to." That is so true! Without getting shmaltzy, it really is a like a physical need.

If you're feeling frustrated in this area, dedicate your passions to God and make sure that your passions are in line with His directions and then GO FOR IT! Engage your passions! You will be better for it.
